Thankful

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day with my family….lots of food, cooking, laughing and fellowship.  My Mom is doing good…she has a place on her leg where she closed the car door and tore the skin.  It is not healed yet after 3 weeks but is slowly improving.  Pray with me she will have no problems and no pain with this until it is completely healed.

We had entirely too much food and I ate entirely too much!  It was a perfect day being with family.  I pray you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I have much to be thankful for.

My back is much better.  The brace is off and I can look down to see my feet again.  We are not totally out of the woods but so much better than before.  Thank you for all your prayers. We are still receiving reports of healings from the Ladies Retreat…be sure to check the Ladies Retreat category for updates.  God has been so good to us this year!  We are extremely thankful for our family and friends.  Looking forward to seeing you again real soon!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I pray you all have a blessed Thanksgiving Day!  I am with my family and we are having turkey, ham, home made egg noodles, scalloped oysters, cornbread & sausage dressing, green beans, candied yams, brussel sprouts, corn pudding, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, deviled eggs, bacon & cream cheese pinwheels, banana pudding, pumpkin pie, apple pie and ice cream, pumpkin roll!  We have a tendency to go a little over board!  Wish you were here.  Enjoy your family.  Be thankful for life.  Hope to see you soon.  Becky

Pray for my back….

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

I have hesitated to write asking prayer for myself….hoping this would pass but it has not.  My back started to give me some problems at the retreat Friday night and Saturday morning.  It continued to worsen until Monday when I went to the chiropractor.  I have a swollen disk…wearing a brace…and can’t look down.  I can still walk, sit and lay but having trouble lifting or looking down to work.  Please agree with me in prayer this swelling will go down and I can get busy about the Father’s business!  Thanks.

Praise Report from Ladies Retreat!

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Ladies, I just received report from Kaitlyn (young girl receiving an MRI…having terrible headaches).  Her MRI was clear, just like we prayed and she is going now to eye doctor tomorrow to find source of her problem.  Even though we don’t yet have the answer…a clear MRI of her head is such a great report…her Mom called Lindy last night to thank all the ladies for their prayers.

Thank you to all the ladies!

Ronnie and I have arrived home tonight unpacking, reminiscing and resting.  I am so thankful tonight for our great group of ladies that came this year.  To have a great retreat, it takes women that are hungry and receptive to the touch of the Lord.  You were both!  From the very first night you joined together in unity for the needs of others.  Each service you came with anticipation and expectation of what the Lord would do for you.

This was our largest attendance in 9 years and we are so thankful for your excitement and participation.  I am receiving reports from the ladies that have received such a touch of God this week…which makes everything worthwhile.  YOU are what makes the retreat a success and it certainly was this year.  Thank you.

Prayer for Kay’s and Judy’s Mom!

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

We received calls today from Kay Goode and Judy Cundiff.  Judy’s mom was scheduled to come to our retreat but she has had a heart attack.  They have taken her to the hospital and done a heart cath.  It revealed a good report….can be taken care of with medicine.  They are checking now to see if there was damage done to the heart during the heart attack.  We are believing for another good report for her.

Kay Goode’s mom was just with us Saturday during the Harvest Praise Concert.  She has had a stroke, fell and broke her leg and is now in ICU in Winston.  Let’s hold her up in prayer that God will touch her, return her ability to speak and communicate with her family and return home again.  Continue to pray for Kay.  She is 4 weeks from her open heart surgery.  It was so good to be with her this weekend in revival.  Let’s hold that family in our prayers this week.

Retreat is here!!!!!

We are on our way to Pigeon Forge…..totally loaded!  Trailer is full of gifts, cds (including my new release “My Favorite Psalms”), new colors of t-shirts and table decorations!  Ronnie and I have worked for the last two days loading, folding t-shirts, and getting gifts counted to make sure we have enough for everyone.  We will set the room up in the morning so we can rest for the Thursday night meeting.  Don’t forget if you have not registered, stop by between 6:00PM and 7:30PM to register, pick up your tote bag and name badge.  This will make it easier to get everyone signed in by church time.  If you are registered, stop by and sign in…pick up your tote bag and name badge before service!  We are going to start right at 7:30PM.

I have just finished a new project.  I chose some of my favorite Psalms and have recorded my voice reading from Psalm 1 to 150.  It is about 30 minutes long and perfect for listening while you drive or just before bedtime.  This will make a great Christmas gift….I’m giving one to my Mom…but can’t wait til Christmas…Thanksgiving will be nice.  Mom, if you’re reading this….I’ll bring it up next week!  Love you Mom.

Ladies Retreat last 4 days…

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

We are getting so excited about the retreat.  I just know we are headed for our visitation!  I am traveling home tonite to get the final registrations, call in count for meal, load gifts and equipment and leave out Tuesday to get set up and prepare myself for what God has in store for us!  If you discover at the last minute you can come and you are not registered, come ahead…they prepare for a little extra that show up at the door.  If you will email all the way up to Thursday morning, I can still add you to the count!!!  Don’t talk yourself out….come on and let’s see what the Lord will do!

Harvest Praise filled with Praise!

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

We just finished the Harvest Praise concert with  Faith of God Ministries in Walkertown, North Carolina.  We so enjoyed the great music and singers all day Saturday.  They had delicious barbeque with fixins and desserts and such wonderful fellowship!

It was so great  to see Kay again.  You will remember praying for her a month ago…she had open heart surgery and was on our blog for several days.  She is doing so much better…was able to be at the concert the entire day and back this morning for worship service.  God has been so good to the Goode family and all of us that love her!

We want to thank everyone that worked so hard at the concert and came out to our revival Thursday and Friday.  We enjoyed our stay and being in the presence of the Lord with His sons and daughters.  God bless.

Ladies Retreat…12 days and counting!

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

Anticipation is rising as we enter into the last 2 weeks of the Ladies Retreat preparation. We are receiving daily phone calls, emails and text messages for last minute registrations and room reservations.  They have opened up the Creek Stone Inn (across the street from the Ramada) for us.  They have only smoking rooms left at the Ramada and the Creek Stone is very nice and within walking distance of the convention center.

We gave our first head count for the meals on Friday so they can order the food for our buffet but they call for a final count on the 16th.  If you are still trying to come and don’t find out until the last minute, email me with your number of women coming before the morning of the 16th and then you can register at the door!

We have several women coming this year for the first time and we are so excited to see what the Lord has in store for all of us.  The theme for this year’s retreat is “It’s the Climb…”  and we will be dealing with this journey of life.  Every area of our life is necessary to make us who we are.  It’s not about going to the top….it’s the climb.

I hope you are making arrangements now to join us even for a night or morning service…we look forward to seeing you soon in beautiful Pigeon Forge!

Update on Kathy

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

I received an email from Kathy this week…let’s keep praying until healing is complete:

“I am beginning to feel better. I am off oxygen now. Praise the Lord. The doctors still don’t know what is wrong. My breathing is not well, but it is better than it has been for the last couple of weeks. I am taking it slow, I have to, but I am believing that I am taking a healing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes it is instant and sometimes it is gradual. I am just glad to be able to breath. Thank you for putting me on your prayer list. There is so many people praying for me that I have to get better.

I am not a good patient. I hate sitting and not doing things. I love to be busy.

God is faithful and so good to me.”

Urgent Prayer Request

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

Prayer partners please join with me to pray for Kathy Allen, a long time friend of ours.  She has been suffering for 3 weeks with difficulty breathing.  She is now on oxygen at her home with no clue from the doctors what is the source of her problem.  They have ruled out trouble with her heart and lungs and are still doing tests.  She is having difficulty walking, eating or standing…her only relief is reclining or lying down.  Please join with me in agreement….not only does Jesus know the source of her problem, He is her healer!  Pray with me until we hear her good report of total healing.  We will keep you updated as we hear from Kathy.  Thank you and God bless.
