Progress Report…

Monday, September 28th, 2009

Hello. We were told that you have been praying for Mike. Wanted you to know that he is doing well since the strokes. We praise the Lord that there is no lasting residuals and he is gaining strength daily. His heart is still out of rythym due to Atrial Fibillation. They (the doctors) feel that this was the cause of the strokes. We feel that it was a direct attack of the enemy since it was the portion of the brain that affects speech that was supposed to have been permanantly damaged. Thanks to the prayers of God’s people he will soon be back to traveling and preaching again. If he’s heart should remain out of rythym they will schedule him in about 4-5 weeks to stop it, and then shock it back into rythym. Please help us pray that the Lord will finish the work that He has begun and that this will not need to be done.

Thanks for your prayers,

Mike, Kathy & Zachary Suggs

Tent Meeting in South Carolina

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

Mike and Sally and Ronnie and I are in tent revival in Langley, South Carolina.  We started Tuesday and tonite is our last night.  We have had great meetings each night with 5 saved so far this week!  We are praising God for His touch in these meetings.  It is always such a blessing for us as evangelists to come to town and see souls saved and to fellowship in the presence of the Lord with our old friends making new friends along the way.  Thank you, Brother Chris, for setting your tent and making this meeting possible…and thanks to the musicians, singers and everyone who came out to help us reach the lost in this area.  We are laborers together with God. We love you.

Pat in hospital

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

Pat Moyer from Bible Faith Church in Aiken South Carolina has been in the hospital since Wednesday evening.  You will remember her from Pickin in the Park concert and our Spring Retreat every year.  She, her husband Eddie and the 3 girls sing together.  They have given her a heart cath, ct scan, and now more tests today.  She is having chest pain and around her mid section that has not let up all week.  Her heart is clear (no blockages or disease), gall bladder clear and now they are looking more.  Still no answer but no relief.  Please pray with us that they will find her difficulty and that this pain will subside.  Pat cares for her father and brother and is needed at home.  God bless you Pat.  You are in our prayers.

Prayer Partners!

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

We received a text message today concerning one of our pastors in Georgia.  Sister Daniels is a diabetic and has a place on her foot that is healing too slowly.  She also needs prayer for her knees.  The doctor has diagnosed her with arthritis and wants to go in and scrape something in her knee area.  At any rate…..we are believing God the place on her foot will heal speedily and His hand touches her knees.  One touch of the Master’s Hand and there is no need for surgery.

Also, Ronnie’s friend for many years, Steve, called today and his wife (56) had a stroke this week.  She has gone home to do therapy to be able to walk again.  Please believe with us that God will do again for Steve’s wife what He did for Mike Suggs!  We want to see the hand of God move in that family until we hear a good report of healing and restoration!

Ruthie Grimmett, long time friend of my brother’s, has been taken to the hospital…she is in her 80’s and such a woman of God.  She needs a miracle touch from the Lord.  Thank you for agreeing with us for all the needs that come to us while on the road.  We love you and appreciate your prayers.

Update on our prayer requests!

We received word today that Mike Suggs is home from the hospital and minor signs remaining of his stroke.  His blood clot is gone and he is on the mend.  Thank you for all your prayers!!!!

Prayer and Praise

Monday, September 14th, 2009

We have had so many prayer requests in the last couple days.  Mike Suggs has had a stroke this week in North Carolina and a blood clot on his brain and needs prayer….Bill Huff in Morristown has had chest pain all week and has already had open heart surgery and stints and now more chest pain…has been taking nitro for his pain…Donna Helton’s mom in North Carolina has had a stroke…Nadine Peters has had something like pneumonia for 5 weeks and unable to get a deep breath…Barry Brown from South Carolina had a heart attack, has 7 blockages, has had 4 stints and was going to get 2 more.

The praise report is after our revival in South Carolina and having prayer for Barry during the revival, his 85% blockage in 2 arteries had shrunk to 50% and seemed to be still shrinking!  Doctor would not even use a stint…no need for it!  We prayed for Nadine this morning in Morristown, Tennessee and she took a deep breath without a sharp pain in her back for the first time in 5 weeks!

We are thanking God for the reports we have heard so far…..please continue to pray with us for these needs.  The purpose of our blog is so we can get in touch with you on a quick basis.  We are counting on our prayer partners to join with us until the rest of the praise reports come in!

911…We will never forget!

Saturday, September 12th, 2009

Tonight after traveling all day to get home from our last meeting, we sat down to watch the news in our own living room.  I had forgotten the date….as we have been on the road for the last nine days.  I watched the reenactment of the attack on the twin towers and remembered watching the news that morning, drinking coffee when we watched it unfold before our eyes.  I remember the unsettling feeling that we, as a nation, was in trouble like our generation had never seen.  For days, I was glued to the updates of what had happened and who was responsible.  I will never forget where I was and what I was doing on that day.

Tonight watching that report and hearing reporters proclaim over and over…we will never forget, it reminded me of another story.  The Lord told Joshua…send one man from each tribe back into that Jordan river and pick up a stone.  Carry that stone on your shoulder to the place where you will lodge tonight and put them in a heap.  For every generation that follows you when they see these stones and say…what means these stones…you will say, this is where the Lord brought us through the Jordan River out of the desert and delivered us from Egypt’s bondage…see you never forget!

I will never forget 911.  I will never forget how God delivered His people out of the bondage of Egypt.  I will never forget that one day I was a slave to narcotic drugs, alcohol and a hopeless life…and He came down my old dusty road and delivered me!  I am a product of what He did in my life…and I will never forget!

Georgia Campmeeting is up and running!

Friday, September 4th, 2009

We had our first evening and first morning service at our Georgia Campmeeting with host Pastor William Sisum in Blairsville, Georgia. We have had 2 excellent meetings so far and are so excited to see what the Lord has in store for the rest of the week.

It has been especially exciting for me as I have seen old friends that I have not been in meetings with for the last 18 years. It is refreshing to see your old friends still going on strong for Jesus. We have pastors here already from Kannapolis, North Carolina…Ellijay, Georgia…Cashiers, North Carolina and we are receiving calls of others coming in from Dawsonville and Bakersville, North Carolina.

The presence of the Lord was so refreshing this morning we walked into the meeting one way and walked out another way…touched by the hand of our never-failing God. His Word is powerful and revealing our hearts. We are being broken in His presence and remolded by the hands of that Great Potter!

I hope you have made plans to join us this weekend in these beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains! We have 2 services daily through Saturday night. Best Western has given us a special rate of $62 until weekend and then $72. The women of the church are preparing a meal for everyone after the evening service and it was delicious last night. I expect nothing different tonite. Great food, great fellowship, great presence. See you tonite!
