We did it!

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

Well, we did it!  Our first outdoor Pickin in the Park concert went off without rain….well a little rain.  We had an excellent turnout…somewhere around 350 according to the tickets we gave out.  The food was delicious…even though I didn’t get a chili dog…according to the survey cards.  Everyone sang so great and worked so well together.  It was a wonderful concert with much food, fun and fellowship.

We are so thankful to all our friends and family that came to be a part and to support Ronnie’s new undertaking.  We have such a wonderful group of pastors, evangelists, singers, musicians and friends.  We also have some of the hardest working friends that step up to the plate wherever the need arises.  We worked all day Friday getting the stage set up and preparing the shelter house.  Then at 7am we started again.  This was without a doubt the  most difficult thing we have ever attempted.  I was a little out of it due to lack of sleep so I didn’t communicate too well.  I am so thankful to all the help that stepped up to the plate.  LC, Patty, Harry, Judy, Banita, Tim, Carletta, Charles, Roy, Renea, Penny, Stella, David, Pam, Ricky, Mike, Johnny, Rita and friends, Irene, Donna, Pat, Gary, David, Kelly and too many more to mention.  Jimmy, Thomas and LC stayed to the very end helping Ronnie take down equipment on the stage.  We finally reached our motel at 10:30 that night happy everything went so well but give out.  Ronnie’s back was testy all day Sunday, but a little ice and a lot of prayer and he is good to go again today.  I hope to have the pictures posted on our site soon.  Thank you once again for coming and your kind comments.  We are blessed with such good friends.

One week and counting…

We are down to the last week before Pickin in the Park.  We are finalizing all the details as we travel home tonite.  We will start setting up equipment on Friday so everything will be finished and ready to go by Saturday morning.  If you are coming to the concert or in the Wilkesboro area and would like to volunteer to help set up equipment, help park cars or whatever else comes up…send me an email at trammellministry@aol.com and I will give you some details of what we need.  Ronnie will be setting up speakers and running cables while I am setting up food preparation tables and getting the dvd equipment ready on Friday.  We are excited about every new undertaking and are expecting to hear great reports from this concert.

Pastor Eddie Moyer and his family is coming to join with us from Aiken, South Carolina.  Some of you may have heard them in our Spring Retreat in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.  Then today we received a call from the Brazell’s, a well known southern gospel group from the Augusta, Georgia area and they are coming to be with us also.  Many of you may have heard the Brazell’s in your churches or heard Ramona in our November Annual Ladies Retreat  down through the years.  We are so happy both of these groups are going to be with us.  We have been in contact with all the groups  and singers that are already scheduled and they are also making their last minute preparations to be with us and to be a blessing to you on Saturday.

We are also excited to report that because of the flyers we have posted in Sparta, North Carolina and surrounding areas, Zac and Cody Hamm have a concert lined up already!  Congratulations guys….we are so proud of you!  See you Saturday.  Becky and Ronnie

He does it again!

We want to thank those of you who read our blog and have been praying for Ronnie.  We are on our way home tonite and he is driving, walking, standing, been playing his guitar and all is well!  We drove to Jacksonville Saturday morning and had service with Deliverance Time Ministries first ladies meeting.  Ronnie went to Guitar Center to purchase the acoustic guitar he is giving away for the Pickin in the Park concert on Saturday.  After a nice meal, it was a very restful night waiting for our service this morning.  He is so much better today after a little rest and much prayer.  We are praising God for one more touch in his body!

This week we hope to get an appointment with his asthma doctor to check out the reason he is having such trouble getting a deep breath.  We know God is faithful and will complete the work He has begun!  We will keep you updated.  We so appreciate your prayers.

Praise Report & Prayer Request

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

I am forever amazed at the kindness and the protection of the Lord.  When we will listen to Him and tune out the hustle bustle of the day, He speaks and directs our life.  For several days I have had a concern that we would have trouble pulling our equipment trailer into the mountains of NC for Ronnie’s concert next week.  I kept dismissing that feeling as our Suburban, even though it has 258,000 miles on it, runs fine.  Monday we checked our brakes just in case, I could not shake this feeling.  They were fine.  Then I noticed an unusual sound that we did not recognize.  Yesterday we began to check from one area to another until we could trace the sound and I could rest that the vehicle was safe.  Ronnie found our front hubs were worn on my side, locked on his side and would have been a short distance from a break down on the side of the road.  I am praising God tonite before I fall asleep that one more time, He watches over us and protects us from harm.  He is such a loving Father and such a strong tower to run into.

In the process of Ronnie replacing the hubs, pulling, tugging and several hours of sitting bent over working on the wheels, Ronnie’s back is weak tonight and we have begun ice paks to keep the disc from swelling.  Please agree with us in prayer that this too shall also pass.  He needs a touch in his back as we are 14 hours from home.  We so trust in your prayer of agreement.  He is still not totally healed from the congestion in his lungs but he is much better than he was the end of July.  We are believing for a touch of God to bring healing to his lungs and this disc in his back.  Thank you for your prayers.  We love you.  Becky  *I will keep you posted as we travel*

God has smiled on us this week!

Monday, August 10th, 2009

I am rejoicing this afternoon as I prepare for our service tonight in South Carolina.  All day while we traveled to our next meeting, Ronnie and I talked of how good God has been this week!  We had 3 souls saved this weekend in Georgia and Mike had either 15 or 18 saved Tuesday night in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky (too many to count)!  It has been a long time since we had too many to count getting saved in one service!  Then Mike and I reminenced this afternoon of how many we have had since the first of the year.  The tent meeting we held together in Florida in March we had 9 saved in 10 days.  It has never been our way to keep track of how many are being saved or how many are healed.  We just go, preach, pray for the sick, reach for those in trouble and then go again tomorrow.  We have continued to do that for 25 years (and for Mike over 30 years).  For us it started in Florida, then Mobile, and Florida again, then Kentucky and Georgia until of those we can remember off the top of our head, there have been over 40 saved this year so far!  Then today it hit me, God has smiled on us.  Scripture says, He that winneth souls is wise…and it is not His will that any should perish, but all come to repentance.  I know He has smiled on us for no man comes to the Father except the Spirit draws him.  His Spirit is drawing right now and I am so thankful to be a part of it!  2009 has been a year of salvation and healings all around us….not 50 or 100 at one time….but a consistent amount week after week and now in the middle of the year, my heart is rejoicing.  God has been good to us…He has surely smiled on us…and today we are thankful for over 40 new souls!

Pray for Ronnie

Ronnie has been under the weather for the last 2 weeks.  It started as a cold with congestion in his lungs and fever.  With his asthma, any congestion makes his breathing very difficult.  He has missed a couple night’s meeting because of the fever and we covet your prayers.  We have tried everything we know to do and are believing the Lord will turn this around soon.  Thank you for your faithful prayers.  We love you.

3 weeks and counting!

We are so excited about our first Pickin in the Park in Wilkesboro, NC.  Ronnie and I are traveling there and and to every town within 45 miles to place vinyl signs advertising the free concert.  We have more door prizes coming in…free night stay at Holiday Inn Express (thanks to Matt Mayberry for such a kind contribution)…gift card from Golden Corral and of course the gift card from Applebee’s, and the $50 Visa gift card.  We are hoping to pick up a few more tomorrow on our trip.  We have located the Fender accoustic guitar that will be the grand prize….signed by all singers….and will pick it up Tuesday.  We are finishing up supplies, food, drinks…everything is falling into place.

Ronnie designed a t-shirt with a list of all singers in the shape of a guitar pick on the back of the shirt and Pickin in Park 2009 on front.  We have ordered several sizes and colors and are looking forward to see how they turn out.

We have sent flyers to our pastors.  If you have not received yours, please email and let us know.

Everyone has been so kind to volunteer to help us serving food, work the dvd camera, take pictures, watch t shirt and tape tables, set up equipment and keep everything moving smoothly.  We are so fortunate to have friends that love the work of the Lord and love to be a part of the work.

We hope you are making plans now to join us.  Keep us in your prayers as we finalize all the details and get down to the deadline.  We so want to see lives touched and souls saved because of the anointing of the Holy Ghost.

Remember, you can call Holiday Inn Express for a special rate of $75 by mentioning He Died For Me concert.  They have been very kind to donate the free room for a door prize and furnish all the ice needed for the concert.  See you on the 22nd!
